About the event

Enjoy two holiday one act plays back-to-back. Truman Capote's A Christmas Memory is a touching short story by Truman Capote, where a seven-year-old boy, Buddy, and his peculiar and loving distant cousin, an older woman with a childlike spirit, embark on the annual tradition of making fruit pies. It evokes the warmth of Christmas traditions and the power of shared memories while subtly revealing the contrasts between childhood innocence and the difficulties of adult life. Thornton Wilder's The Long Christmas Dinner is a one-act play that follows the Bayard family's ritualized Christmas dinner over a period of ninety years. It offers snapshots of how they invest the banalities of their lives with meaning as times change.
