Health and Safety Protocols

MET Board and leadership are committed to the health and safety of our audiences, artists and staff. We are taking extra care to make sure that our lobby, theatre, dressing rooms, restrooms ancillary spaces are all clean and safe. We are increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting daily, with particular attention to high touch areas and have also developed protocols for operating the theatre during performances to protect the health and safety of visitors, artists, technicians and our staff.

Thank you in advance for understanding and supporting our efforts. A little inconvenience can go a long way towards keeping yourself and others safe for years to come.

Our safety protocols have been developed with the guidance of OSHA, CDC, and the Event Safety Alliance with your safety and our specific floorplan in mind.

The theatre, seating, lobby, restrooms and all spaces will be disinfected prior to the first performance and will be retreated prior to each successive performance throughout the run.

  • Actors, staff and technicians will enter through the stage door. Please sanitize hands upon entry.

  • Audience members are encouraged to reserve tickets in advance. We will be operating at a significantly reduced capacity.  Seats will be assigned in the theatre to assure your safety, comfort, sightlines for the show, enjoyment and to provide generous space for all patrons.

  • Walk up tickets may be purchased with debit or credit cards on a seating available basis

  • Audience members will enter the theatre through the front door on Main St. Two check in stations will be available to avoid congestion.

  • You will find a doorman to greet you at our front door. Please allow him to open the door for you. This one step significantly lowers the likelihood of transmission in this high touch area. Once inside, hand sanitizer will be provided for your safety and convenience. Please sanitize hands to assure a healthy environment.

  • Enjoy a beverage and snack. Our bar will be open. During this time we will curtail the use of glass bar ware and switch back to using disposable plastic and paper items. Single serve wrapped snacks can be purchased at the bar.

  • Two bars will be open to limit congregating in the lobby at intermission.

  • Our new restroom will be open in the lobby. Restrooms in the rear vestibule are also open.

  • Playbills will not be recycled for the time being

  • You will notice Separate entrance and exits from the theatre . Don’t worry, signage makes it easy to see and friendly volunteers will help you ;-) This short term change helps keep you a little safer.

  • Hand sanitizer and sterile wipes will be placed throughout the building in case you need them..

We look forward to creating a healthy, safe, welcoming artistic experience for you. We encourage everyone to follow best practices. Masks are encouraged.

Additionally, if you are not feeling well or are experiencing flu-like symptoms, we encourage you to stay home and contact the box office to reschedule your tickets. We will be happy to exchange them for another production.
