MET Response to AEA's Non-Equity Ban
Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre can confirm that at 9:45am on October 29, 2019 the company was informed by a community member via Facebook that Actor's Equity Association had extended their Do Not Work announcement to include AEA members, EMCs, and all non-union actors and stage managers. We are working to resolve these issues.
A line of communication was been extended to Actor's Equity association to clarify the reasoning behind the extension of the Do Not Work list. We have yet to receive an answer.
Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre is deeply concerned about this development and our first priority is and always has been the artists who work with us. We are particularly concerned for the economic and artistic well-being of the non-equity community who have been injured in this recent development.
We want our community to know that this is something we take seriously. We are doing our best to resolve this and open clear channels of communication.
We have compiled a list of FAQs and are working to verify more information. These questions and their answers that can be found by clicking here.
All are invited to email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to offer a question or comment.
Further information will be released as it becomes available.
